ACTION Receives ATEX & IECEx Certification for Flagship AEC2232bX Fixed Gas Detector
Certified by TÜV Rheinland · SIL2 functional safety · ATEX gas detector ready for global hazardous-area deployment
CHENGDU, China — October 2026 — Chengdu Action Electronics Joint-Stock Co., Ltd. ("ACTION") today announced that its flagship AEC2232bX fixed gas detector has successfully completed ATEX and IECEx testing and factory audit conducted by TÜV Rheinland, with formal certificates expected in October 2026. The versatile platform can be ordered as a combustible gas detector, toxic gas detector or carbon monoxide detector (CO detector), making the AEC2232bX one of the most comprehensively certified fixed gas detection systems available from a Chinese manufacturer.
The 2024 edition of the AEC2232bX now carries a full spectrum of international certifications, enabling deployment in hazardous areas across global markets without additional local approvals:
Thanks to interchangeable sensor modules, the same enclosure arrives configured as a methane detector or natural gas detector for city gas and LNG sites, an H2S gas detector — a hydrogen sulfide (H2S) detector — for sour-gas areas, a CO alarm for boiler and heater rooms, an ammonia detector for refrigeration plant, or an oxygen (O2) detector for confined-space monitoring. Refineries and petrochemical plants commonly specify it as a combination explosive gas and carbon monoxide alarm where both fire risk and CO exposure exist.

International buyers no longer accept a trade-off between certification depth and delivery speed. The AEC2232bX carries the certifications our customers' safety cases demand — SIL 2 per IEC 61508, ATEX and IECEx — while hot-swappable sensors and infrared-remote calibration cut their lifetime operating costs. Being a wholly-owned subsidiary of Maxonic Automation (SZSE: 300112) gives our customers an additional layer of corporate assurance.

With this certification, ACTION now exports to more than 24 countries and is positioned to serve the growing demand for ATEX gas detectors and certified gas detection systems in oil & gas, petrochemical, LNG, city gas, and battery energy storage applications worldwide.
For crews entering vessels, trenches or tanks, ACTION also supplies portable gas detectors and
portable gas leak detectors that match the fixed gas detection system already on site. The
company contributed to China’s national design standard for petrochemical gas detection (GB/T
50493-2019) and operates a 27,942 m² facility with a 6,800 m² manufacturing centre and over 500
employees. ACTION holds 67 granted patents within a portfolio of 120+ intellectual property assets.
