Gas Detection for Breweries &
Distilleries
Ethanol vapor, CO2 and CIP cleaning hazards covered
CE/ATEX certified, IP66 washdown, hot-swap modules
In a brewery or distillery, invisible gases threaten your workers on every shift.
Fermentation produces enough CO2 to asphyxiate workers at floor level in cellars and
confined spaces. Distillation generates ethanol vapor that is explosive at just 3.3% by
volume. CIP cleaning chemicals corrode unprotected sensors and trigger false alarms.
ACTION's AEC2232bX gas detection system handles all three hazards in a single IP66-
rated unit — available as a carbon dioxide sensor, oxygen (O2) detector or ethanol
flammable gas detector — with no-enclosure-opening calibration that keeps your cellars
production-safe.

Brewing staff routinely enter fermentation tanks, mash tuns and cellars where oxygen can have been
displaced. ACTION portable gas detectors and portable gas leak detectors combine a carbon dioxide
sensor with an oxygen (O2) detector and an ethanol gas leak detector in one handheld, and a multi-
gas detector is available for fixed points that watch several hazards. Boiler and utility rooms can add a
natural gas detector, methane detector or propane gas detector to complete coverage.
